Mark Green was a tight wad with spending. He had desks, computers, etc. that were years old and when Kagen was elected all the stuff had to be returned to the Congressional offices and they just shook their heads. I wouldn't doubt it a bit if Kagen went on a spending spree and never stopped. I also know that Cong. Green's salaries were always on the low end and Kagen has paid his staff right at the top of the salary scale. They don't call him Dr. Millionaire for nothing folks. He's used to the good life, yes he's earned it in his medical practice, but now that he's not practicing anymore he continues the lifestyle on my dime. I work damn hard for what I earn and to see him throw it away disgusts me.
As much as I like Roth and would vote for him in a heart beat, I think Reid is the candidate out in front and the guy to beat right now. Yesterday Jerry Bader had on Mark Savard from Sturgeon Bay, Mark's a good guy but the interview was terrible thanks to Jerry's questions and Mark started out rambling about the big snow storm. Really didn't do anything to get my vote.

Re: Most Expensive House Office in America is Steve Kagen’s

Great work. I am glad I bought all those tags, that I didnt fill that takes away from some one that could. We have no deer . I have spent countless hours in the woods this year and every year, we must do somthing to stop this doe killing. There is no reason that all these doe tags are given out every year, the youth hunt is good to a point , but it still takes away from our economy when gun deer season comes around, no one takes into the effect when archery tags were put into place many years ago. when bows were primitive, and it was much harder to get a deer back then, bows today are built like rifles. and a good shooter that takes great pride in his bow can kill animals with bow at greater distance than years before. Which leads to more deer kill. the wolfs are another big problem. I live in a rural area. and a pack killed my dog, my next door nieghbor lost 38 chickens and 9 full grown turkeys in one night, not to mention the stupid lottery system for a black bear tag. give me a break. We should NOT HAVE doe tags given out . Take the damb wolfs off the endangerd list . And get rid of the black bear lottery.DNR HAS GOT THERE WISH NO DEER, oh and the coyote packs are huge, lets not shoot them during gun deer season when all the hunters are in the woods. because they might shoot a wolf. give me another break , if you cant tell the diff between a wolf and a coyote you shouldnt even have a gun in your hands in the first place.
our resorts and business are going to hurt when no one comes to hunt because pencil pushers that dont even hunt, comes up with all these great ideas ,
If we have a bad winter with a heavy snow fall, kiss the rest of what deer herd we have left good bye , Good job head cheeses of the Wisconsin DNR you should get a medal each and every one of you.

Re: WWII Medal of Honor Winner Told Not to Fly the Flag

This kinda stuff boils my bottom -- covenants and associations. I gotta similar situation. I signed a covenant to buy the lot we have and I've had a couple of visits by the former owner. Now, the irony is the former owner has some land in the neighboring town and the town has a slot minimum build size. Postage stamps or huge tracts. Former owner doesn't like it, needless to say I am not very sympathetic.

Re: Just Some Harmless Fun…

I don't know if I'm more upset because I called that number to set-up a tour of the White House or the fact that November 24th was 10 days ago. The reason these become huge news stories is the majority of the country isn't part of an association and doesn't relate to the fact that in any association, there are rules you have to follow. I'm in a townhome association and if people did whatever they wanted to - no matter how patriotic - chaos would rule. You can't just have people doing whatever they want when there are rules against it. This association denied this guy permission to put up a flagpole and he decided to do it anyway. It's like the state of Wisconsin telling you to put a front license plate on your car and you put one of the flag on instead. You can't just violate the rules because it's patriotic to do so.

That's just my soapbox though...people look way too quickly at the American flag in these stories and become quickly blind to the real issue.

Re: And Roth Makes Seven…

Yeah, I saw that post at Playground Politics too.

Can be easily remedied.

Re: And Roth Makes Seven…

Why is there a picture of the US Supreme Court on his Web site? Wolves, bear, earn-a-buck, T-Zone, and every other 'special hunt' have decimated the herd. There is no denying it anymore. I hit 2 deer there earlier this year. 2 deer, 2 miles apart, 2 months apart! My trucking pals and I call hwy 21 from Coloma to Tomah 'Deer Alley'! Of course, I've heard some people express the opinion that Kagen literally does not care what the people in his district think ought to be done. But I also hear that being indifferent to your constituents desires is a great way to get back into the medical practice.

Jeremy R. I'll have to ask him how they are doing.

One story that kept recurring over the last year or so was the buildup of used car inventory at the DXB airport. People lose jobs and have a Mercedes they owe a ton of money on (Or a Nissan Patrol) and they just show up at DXB in the middle of the night and hop on plane back to wherever it is they are from (probably the UK) leaving the car in the car park.

The other story one hears too revolves around the fact the locals never lose. If it looks like they are about to lose the loss somehow gets transferred to an ex-pat.

Loved my time there but am glad I am not there now.

Re: PPP Polling: Feingold Would Beat Thompson

I agree that TGT just likes the attention. But I didn't give that 25% disapproval from Republicans a second thought, when you consider how trendy it is for the teabagging wing of the party to trash any Republican who ever dared to try and get anything done that wasn't saving a fetus or cutting taxes. I hear conservatives rag on TGT all the time for being a big spending RINO and talk about how they'd rather stay home than vote for him.

The tent a lot of conservatives want to pitch wouldn't even be big enough to accommodate guys like Ronald Reagan.
